Fuzzy Pink Montag Moth

A Montag Motte in Fuzzy-rosa – Dryocampa ruddy (Saturniidae). These rosy maple moths are pretty common in southern Illinois, aber immer eine Wucht, wenn sie ans Licht kommen.

Motte Porträtmalerei

Nicht ungewöhnlich moth, aber ein vornehm aussehender. This is Catocala ilia (Erebidae) ((früher Noctuidae)), und er ernährt sich von einer Handvoll Eichen. Prärie an einem kalten Frühlingsmorgen

Today marks a sad day in Physics history, the Tevatron accelerator at Fermi Lab in Batavia Illinois was powered down for the last time.
