Schinia villosa

This Monday’s moth is a duo of Schinia villosa (Slide) resting on what I am assuming is their host plant (Erigeron sp.). I snapped this shot around 9,000 feet up on the Kaibab plateau in Northern Arizona last month. A fire must have burned the area a few years ago . . . → Li piplis: Lendi vè

I photographed this about three weeks ago outside the town of Big Pine, California. The asters were thick in the valleys below the snow capped Sierra, and the moths were abundant. . . . → Li piplis: Lendi vè

Li pa trè souvan rankontre ak sèlman yo te jwenn ansanm chenn yo nò California mòn manje sou Malacothrix floccifera – yon flè endemic CA. Chak vwayaj . . . → Li piplis: Atizay la nan yon Chase Goose

Rivyè nan lò

A few images from my weekend mothing trip down to Shell Creek, San Luis Obispo County. Early spring along the central coast is stunning, and the back roads were packed with flower watchers. There were dozens of cars occupied by families out for a weekend drive, many had packed lunches and sat to watch the . . . → Li piplis: Rivyè nan lò
