மாறுவேடத்தில் ஒரு காப்பர் பட்டாம்பூச்சி

அனைத்து நோக்கங்களுக்காகவும் இந்த ஒரு நீல பட்டாம்பூச்சி போன்ற தெரிகிறது (Polyommatinae துணைக்குடும்ப போன்ற)… அது மிகவும் தான், மிகவும் நீல அனைத்து பிறகு. ஆனால் வண்ண அடிப்படையில் ஊகங்கள் தவறானவை சாலையில் வழிவகுக்கும்; அது மாறிவிடும் என இந்த பட்டாம்பூச்சி உண்மையில் ஒரு இனங்கள் தாமிரம். சாரி வடிவம் மற்றும் ஒருவேளை venation நுட்பமான வேறுபாடு உள்ளன, but when I first saw these butterflies I assumed they were a sub-species of Plebejus icarioides (எந்த were மேலும் flying at this location on the Kaibab Plateau). But then I began seeing female butterflies (கீழே) interacting with these blues and then it dawned on me – blue copper – Lycaena heteronea austin (Lycaenidae: Lycaeninae)!

This subspecies was originally described in 1998 by the late, நன்று George T. Austin as உருக்கு. heteronea rutila. Given however that rutila more or less = rutilus, it was later determined rutila was actually unavailable and the subspecies name was changed to austin in honor of George.
