All those pics look like green lacewing eggs – though what the hell a lacewing was doing under the washer is beyond me.
Does no one in the media question what they are told? yeesh.
I just noticed the line where the woman said she thought they smelled fragrant. I’ll test that the next time I’m out in the fields…
Jep! It’s so ridiculous that they even call these flowers. At most I could imagine that these would be mistaken for fungal fruiting bodies. And I doubt there is even a fragrance. The whole story is probably bogus, even if she found them under her washer I doubt there was a fragrance associated with these eggs (why would a lacewing scent their eggs…). At best it was psychosomatic, but it’s probably just story embellishment. Go press!
