Entomology as a Candle in the Dark
This one is just too easy. The billboard is on I-35 south of Burleson, Texas.
I don’t know the true provenance of this image, but it came my way from Omar Bocanegra via Mike Quinn on the Texas Lepidoptera list-serv.
Really, a viceroy? The tagline should read, “The butterfly you thought you knew.” The ad agency needs a fact checker.
How do they do this shit?!?! There so many more monarch photos than viceroy photos (most correctly labelled) around, and yet they pick the wrong one.
Mimicry works!
